Ep.22: Difficult Conversations

Terry Hawkins Season 1 Episode 22

GHOSTING and GOSSIP might be a signal that we lack the skills, awareness and courage to have a difficult conversation.

Being able to not only have a Difficult Conversation, but also emotionally manage the chemical reactions that occur as a result, might be the best interpersonal skills we can ever possess.

When we are able to give and receive a difficult conversation, we build the foundations of trust, respect and genuine closeness - the essentials for any powerful team and/or relationship.

Rather than sweeping things under the rug (ghosting), or sharing our issues with those that can’t help (gossip), let’s learn how to create an environment that will inspire growth, courage and build trust. With the proper tools and commitment to healthy connections, these conversations evolve from challenging into invaluable insights.

Whether it’s addressing issues with team members, our own leader, a partner or family member, or even handling a customer concern, using this 5-step process will help us to place the importance of the relationship over our discomfort in the moment.

Difficult conversations, when handled well, often lead to even deeper and more meaningful connections with these we care about. @IgniteHumans#leader #leadership #difficultconversations #retailcustomer #retailtech #ignitehumans #insight #leadershipdevelopment #onlinelearning #courage #influence #customerexperience #dothework #relationships #connections
